[TEST] A Sample Study of Startup Formation Patterns in a Regional Innovation Ecosystem

Abstract

It offers a hypothetical examination of how startup formation might be shaped by the characteristics of a regional innovation ecosystem such as Silicon Valley. The paper outlines an illustrative conceptual model linking four ecosystem factors to new venture formation: access to risk capital, density of skilled talent, proximity to research universities, and informal knowledge-sharing networks. A notional mixed-methods design is described, combining a fictional dataset of firm registrations with sample founder interviews, although no data have been collected.
