Peer Review

Peer Review Process

The Global Journal of Applied Computing and Business Strategy uses a double-blind peer review process: reviewers do not know the identity of the authors, and authors do not know the identity of the reviewers.

Review Stages

  1. Initial editorial screening: The editor checks scope, quality, formatting, and similarity (plagiarism) results. Manuscripts may be desk rejected at this stage.
  2. Reviewer assignment: Suitable manuscripts are sent to at least two independent reviewers with relevant expertise and no conflicts of interest.
  3. Review: Reviewers assess originality, significance, methodology, clarity, and ethical compliance, and recommend: accept, minor revisions, major revisions, or reject.
  4. Editorial decision: The handling editor makes a decision based on reviewer reports. The Editor-in-Chief has final responsibility for acceptance.
  5. Revision: Authors submit a revised manuscript with a point-by-point response. Revised manuscripts may be returned to reviewers.
  6. Production: Accepted articles are copyedited, typeset, proofread, and published.

Indicative Timelines

  • Initial screening: within 7 days of submission
  • Peer review: 3–6 weeks
  • Author revisions: up to 30 days
  • Publication after acceptance: 2–4 weeks

These timelines are targets and may vary with reviewer availability and the extent of revisions.

Confidentiality and Conflicts of Interest

Manuscripts under review are confidential. Reviewers and editors must declare any conflicts of interest and withdraw where appropriate. Submissions authored by editors are handled independently by another editor, and the author-editor has no access to the review process.

Appeals

Authors may appeal a decision by writing to the editorial office with a reasoned explanation. Appeals are considered by the Editor-in-Chief or an independent editor.
