Publication Ethics

Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement

The Global Journal of Applied Computing and Business Strategy is committed to the highest standards of publication ethics and follows the principles and guidance of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), including the Core Practices. The journal follows COPE guidance; this does not imply COPE membership.

Duties of Authors

  • Submit original work, properly acknowledging and citing the work of others.
  • Do not submit the same manuscript to more than one journal at a time.
  • Report data accurately; fabrication, falsification, and inappropriate image manipulation are unacceptable.
  • List as authors only those who made a significant contribution; disclose funding and conflicts of interest.
  • Disclose use of generative AI tools; authors remain fully responsible for content.
  • Promptly notify the editor of any significant error discovered in a published work.

Duties of Editors

  • Evaluate manuscripts solely on intellectual merit, without regard to authors' race, gender, religion, nationality, or affiliation.
  • Maintain confidentiality and manage conflicts of interest.
  • Ensure a fair, timely double-blind review process and respond to ethical complaints.

Duties of Reviewers

  • Provide objective, constructive, and timely reviews.
  • Treat manuscripts as confidential and do not use unpublished material for personal advantage.
  • Declare conflicts of interest and decline reviews where they exist.

Handling Misconduct

Allegations of misconduct (including plagiarism, data fabrication or falsification, duplicate publication, authorship disputes, citation manipulation, and undisclosed conflicts of interest) will be investigated following COPE flowcharts. The journal may contact the authors' institutions where appropriate. Outcomes may include rejection, correction, expression of concern, or retraction.

Corrections, Expressions of Concern, and Retractions

  • Corrections (errata/corrigenda): Published for errors that do not invalidate the findings, linked to the original article.
  • Expressions of concern: Issued when an investigation is ongoing or inconclusive.
  • Retractions: Issued following COPE Retraction Guidelines for serious errors, misconduct, or duplicate publication. Retracted articles remain online, clearly marked as retracted, with a retraction notice explaining the reason.

Ethical concerns may be reported to contact@americantechpublication.org.
